Hello,  can you please check in to the Softaculous process of adding the update feature within that venue?  Abantecart is NOT on the list,  but Magento is.  We're so much better than Magento let's cover all the bases.

There is a notification that there is a new version of abantecart posted  -  but there is no method to update from with softaculous.   I tested updating via the admin panel (all went well)  but the Softaculous information still reports 1.1.8.  So my real site is on 1.1.9 and my Softaculous info shows 1.1.9.  But it seems that having them sync would be correct.

One of the fixes listed is Grouped Options Values fixed  - can you define the changes this is to fix.  Upon testing   I wasn't see any differences.  I didn't find anything new within documentation. 

Am looking to see if there is progress on the nested options, did not seem apparent if it is now available
Also,  there still is no way to add a cost to the options.   This continues to be inconsistent for good reporting -  and forces a user to aggregate outside information with extractions from the database within the cart -  a very messy solution, often beyond the knowledge level of most users.

Hey somebody -  it would be good to know what this does. 

Hey admins or anyone successfully running multistores -  how does one change the slider banners for each store?  So that you have different ones on each store?

I don't seem to have a store select area within the banner manager screen.  Selecting the store within the system,  does nothing when one goes to the Banner Manager area.  Additionally in looking in the database I see no field for store ID in relationship to banners.  There is a storeID in banner stats.

After testing several ways,  the only way I see to get MySQLI is thru FTP upload and install, choose MySQLI on the Abantecart install routine.

There doesn't seem to be any way to choose MySQLI on a Softaculous install.  And I do not know how to call it after the install.  My preference would be to use the Softaculous installer as it is much faster than FTP upload and has a couple of nice additional features.  I am running all the correct versions to support MySQLI.

Any input into this would be great.

There are minimum requirements stated in the docs,  I am looking to confirm maximum versions known to work with version 1.1.8

Can anyone confirm that these work  or give me the highest versions known to work.
Any comment on rather mySQL or mySQLI is recommended would be appreciated too.

Linux - CentOS 6.4 -
Apache 2.4.x - The .x is a minimal release that can and does change frequently. The major build is 2.4
MySQL 5.5.x - OR MySQL 6.x. would be preferred
PHP - PHP 5.5.x -

Version 1.1.8  - demo products installed  - fresh install - not upgrade

There seems to be an issue on the User Group/Edit User Group grid for the sort request -  I can not get any of the columns to change the sort.  The Arrow changes directions for ascending or descending,  but there is NO change in the column displays. 

the filter does work,  but the sort request in any column still fails.

Hello Admins,  in trying to trace down several of my issues after upgrade it occurred to me that perhaps some of my file settings had changed when I upgraded from .7  to .8.  And they did. Yes,  I am a little slow in thinking of this 
Upgrade from .7  to .8 on my server sets all those files back to 755.

So am wondering if this may be the cause of several issues with others,  I am still testing on mine, but so far so good.
Install instructions say  to make sure the following folders and files are writable
chmod 0777 system/config.php
chmod 0777 system/
chmod 0777 system/cache/
chmod 0777 system/logs/
chmod 0777 image/
chmod 0777 image/thumbnails/
chmod 0777 download/
chmod 0777 extensions/
chmod 0777 admin/system/backup/

Hi Abantecart admins.

Thanks a bunch for the new way to delete media from a product within the product pages as introduced in 1.1.8.   That's a really big improvement in my opinion.

I just have one additional request for the next version - can you possibly make so when you delete a product within the product listing pages, it will delete the link within the resource library?

If one has a linked image and deletes the product - it will happily delete your product, but it still leaves the mapping link on the image.  Thereby when you try to delete the image within the Resource Library it will fail because it has a mapped link.

This enhancement would add some enhancement to the wonderful cart.

Needclarification on documentation please.

In Setting > General:
Allow Reviews : Enable/Disable new review entry and display of existing reviews.

If I disable, then no reviews are allowed to be made an no reviews are shown, and reviews on the product pic is gone.

Within the Catalog > Reviews: one can turn a review off or on AFTER it has been submitted.
What I am looking for is a way to review the customer submitted reviews and approve them fr posting. Much as we can with approval of accounts.  Is there currently a way to do that?Need a way to keep out the crazies - not legitimate customers comments, and would be better to do that prior to the review being seen on the site.
IF not,  can we add that to the "would be great to have" in the next release requests?Lee

how can we add the Open Sans font to the editor fonts?  perhaps other too.

Also which version of ckeditor is used in the cart?

I have the Product Features extension installed - installed under 1.1.7  worked well. Since updating to 1.1.8 I am unable to find the tab in order to use the Product Features extemnsion.

The extension is still installed and still on.  The products that have information in the tab are showing correctly in the product page  (see screenshot)

I have reloaded the extension.  Double-checked that is it set to ON.  But can not get the tab to re-appear in the Edit Products page.

I am starting with the Abantecart Admins for a solution as this seems to be an issue within the admin - edit product area,  but without being able to access the tab  - the extension is useless.  If admins believe it is not their issue, I will try getting help with Algozone - which usually is quite a useless process so am hoping admins here can resolve it.

This is new to my installation:  previous to 1.1.8 update I only use US  currency on my cart.  In checking this error I see that Canadian, Eur and Pound Sterling are in my list. Only US is ON,  others are off.

this is the error:

While trying to change the email customers receive when an order has been placed I encountered some difficulty in the process of change.  I was able to figure it out,  but it more complex than this great cart should be.


With the files that are in the cart upload the syntax is poor - it says
Thank your for interest in (your busines name) products. Your order has been received and will be processed once payment has been confirmed.


At the least it should say

But the real issue here is the process to make a change:
   First needed to search board and documentation - docs have no help,  board came up with this
   It is send by default. If you need to edit text look into:
   
   Model:
   storefront/model/checkout/order.php
   Template:
   storefront/view/default_html5/template/mail/order_confirm.tpl
   
So that got me to the template where one has to read the code to find the string  so you can
locate it within the Language Definitions or one can waste many tries on search hoping to find the string that is being used.  These are too difficult for a lot of users and more difficult than it should be for any user.


It is critical to customer relationships that the cart owner should be able to say on the emails text that is relevant to their business and at the least,  if Abantecart is going to pre-fill then the syntax needs to be correct, at the least.


Please consider enhancing this great cart by adding admin areas that show the form, email whatever and gives the link to the place there the language definitions are that control what is used.  One can't even use firebug on the emails to figure out what it might be called. 


My suggestion would be to add a section in the Design called Forms with something similar to the Layouts.  Ideally see the rendered form with the changeable UI showing would be quite  helpful

Hello,  I see in the list of new things there is noted the fallback banner in HTML5 slider is improved.  BUT,  I can't seem to find where that improvement is deployed.  Searching on Admin and on board did not locate anything to see this new solution.  Please give directions where this is.

I am having an issue with the PayPal Express extension - seems to be only with the bill me later button.  If I don't use the bml - I don't have the warning.

I  updated to version 1.1.8  yesterday.  Have reloaded the PayPal Extension today as seen in my extension screen:

On original installation there is a message that says:

Keep this secure key in save place.
This key is used to encrypt customer's secure data.
You will need this key if you move data to a different shopping cart installation.

and then it gives the key.

So where/ how do we use this information if we move the cart files to a new server or another location?  I searched, but couldn't find instructions.

 Wanted to start the New Year on a note of deep appreciation for abantecart, abolabo, Basara, and eCommerce Core; our great administrators for the board, and immensely helpful in helping us get our carts configured to our desires.  Admins,  you're absolutely the best!!

In a conversation with another Abantecart user a question arose that exceed my knowledge level to execute  - so all you code mavens how can we do this?

Facts:  abantecart files are all setup under subdirectory /store
Domain redirect is currently set from maindomain.com to maindomain.com/store 
And all works well.

How can one place the index page under the maindomain.com  and leave all the files within /store?

Objective is to have customer type in maindomain.com  and arrive at the Home page of the cart rather than an additional splash page or see the url change to maindomain.com/store.

Hi,  just checking in on updates.  Back in early November the expected 1.1.8 release was 2-3 weeks.  We're at 4-5 weeks now so thought I would see how it was coming along.

Thanks - Am hoping (wishing?) that some of my issues will be resolved in the update  Keep up the good work though, it is coming along nicely.
