Quote from: Basara on December 24, 2025, 06:49:01 AMHello,
Your SMTP server may block emails due to factors such as domain reputation, sending frequency, content or other restrictions.

Its not.

The reason I know this is because I added a separate fresh installment of abante on the same domain, just in a different folder with the same email details and it worked.

Something im fairly sure is breaking the site email function between updates.

So what i have had to do is import all my customers and products again to the new deployment and then move the site location to the original location.

Its the only way I got it sorted out and took ages.

why is this not working, have the exact same settings in v1.3.4, setting up v1.4.2 on same server but email is failing. And running php v8.3 Need some help!

I had this exact same issue (and still do).

Its not the credentials, because these work fine on a separate vanilla install on the same server, same domain as a test.

Something is not storing the credentials somewhere or there is a change between updates breaking the working functionality, I mean, I have manually checked every file and just dont get why it doesnt work.  File and Folder permissions were not correct I might add, following an update, but this was sorted and still doesnt solve the issue.

Let me know if you sorted it. :)

So far found 1 file, but I need to spend time going through each dir...

This file is not the same as the latest release, so clearly missed during the update patches...

/storefront/controller/blocks/cart.php

I'll keep going.

Thanks for the help anyway, maybe I will find the files and it will work out, but its how this has happened that is bothering me.

Hi

Yes I've started to do this manually but its going to take too long.

I think given the fragility of updates I may have to shelve abante.

Its a shame tbh if updates are not stable to be applied, I cant be doing this every update or so.

Ill see anyway.

Was kind of hoping there was a script to do a check....
#5
Not too sure now how to resolve this, clearly something is not right, as the hosting is fine on an identical install to email to and from in the same way as the base install with the issue.

I am wondering if there is a way to run some form of integrity check of the release?   My main original release was installed via softaculous, but updated manually from your internal update feature within abante itself.

Also, you may recall I pointed out an issue with the emailing previously on the templates being different in the code, (  https://forum.abantecart.com/index.php/topic,11617.0.html  ) so my theory is that the update is not truly being applied in some way, and maybe breaking the release that I have...

#6
I have just done a fresh separate install and the emailing works with the same settings I set above so as I say, i think something is breaking between updates as this initially worked.

#7
Just to advise, I have checked several things over the weekend and I cannot fathom out the issue.

It seems that regardless of which email setting I try to use, it fails for the "Customer Email" feature.

The strange things are that:

1, I can successfully apply the credentials in the first instance (for SMTP) and I do not get an error.  I then receive a email stating my email config is working.    However I still cannot send an email.    However if I save the email setup beyond the first attempt, i then get the forementioned errors.

2, Regardless of the errors above, emails seem to work for :

Notifying new customers for new accounts and their activation
Order Notification emails to both customer and the admin
Emails for order updates to the customer.

The issue seems be around the SMTP manual email feature where I should be able to send an email to customers.

Kind of frustrating to be honest.

If anyone has any info on this it would be appreciated.

I have provided the correct smtp settings above...

Could it be that abante doesn't like non ssl?

Also, if i try and use the other non smtp options for mail. I get similar errors, so something doesn't seem right.

For example if I set to use "inner email" I get immediate errors when I save starting off with this..

Home/Settings

Mailer Validation Error: Call to undefined function Symfony\Component\Mailer\

So I dont think its directly smtp.

Further, if its rejecting the credentials then why do i still receive the notification stating the email setup is working immediately after I set them?

I'll discuss with my host but the above seems to suggest something else isn't right to me.

Thanks for your input mate.

Its just the most basic SMTP.  Password double checked as well.

I have found that there appears to be an issue authenitcating.  I would of picked this up sooner if the Abante site checked when you save per line in the setup but it doesnt.  It only checks if you use the main save at the bottom of the page.  So this error comes up when saving:

Mailer Validation Error: Failed to authenticate on SMTP server with username "xxxx@mydomain.com" using the following authenticators: "LOGIN", "PLAIN". Authenticator "LOGIN" returned "Expected response code "235" but got code "535", with message "535 Incorrect authentication data".". Authenticator "PLAIN" returned "Expected response code "235" but got code "535", with message "535 Incorrect authentication data".".

I also get this email which confuses me more:  ( I have omitted the email addresses)

From:
Sent: 21 December 2025 07:25
To:
Subject: Your store mailer validation email

If you're reading this, it means the mail-sending feature in your store is working.

Incoming Server:    mail.domain.com
IMAP Port: 993 POP3 Port: 995
Outgoing Server:    mail.domain.com
SMTP Port: 465
IMAP, POP3, and SMTP require authentication.

Thanks for any help, it is appreciated.

Try disabling ModSecurity and check AbanteCart + webserver logs for the blocked request

I think I may need some more help on this if possible please.

Firstly, "log errors" is enabled (and always has been) but in "System > Logs" there are no errors reported.

Secondly, I cannot find an area or section for "ModSecurity" ?

Seems odd that the order emails work and manual order update emails, but not the manual email to customers.

Thanks I will and report back.

This was working previously but I have a suspicion that the recent updates may have affected it. Its the only thing thats changed.

Ill let you know.

Thanks for the heads up.

Hi,

I am using Novator, AbanteCart Version 1.4.3

Could someone advise what might be wrong with regards to sending from the admin pane, an email, using the "Send Mail" feature.

The emails are sent fine to end customers for orders and order updates but the manual email "Send Mail" feature reports of an error when sending...

(Connection error occurred. HTTP-status:403)

I cannot quite fathom what could be wrong if the other emails are working fine?

Could anyone help please?

Hi,

Just to advise, the code was different.  (Not changed by me, so must of been inherited from an earlier release and maybe not changed from the incremental updates).

The working Code is below if it helps anyone else:

HTML BODY SECTION:

Order:  {{ order_id }} <br/>
Date added: {{ order_date_added }} <br/>
Order status: {{ order_status }} <br/>
Invoice: {{ invoice }}<br/>
<br/>

Comment:<br/>
{{{ comment }}}<br/>

<br/>

Please reply to this email if you have any questions.

Thanks Basara for your pointer!  :)

Thanks for tbe info.

I will look into.

For the record, these are not my templates. These were the defaults.

I was just sharing the exact parts in question.

This worked perfectly... Thank you for your kind help.

It looks like you're using the Novator theme. For Novator, you should add the rule into this file instead: /extensions/novator/storefront/view/novator/css/tm_style.css
Alternatively, if you prefer not to edit theme files directly, there are extensions on the marketplace that let you add custom CSS safely without modifying the template, useful if you want to keep things update-proof.

Hi

Yes thats correct, I did state that in my first post.

Thank you so much for the guidance, i'll give that a go.

Thanks again.
