Hello.

I think you need modify CSS to avoid white color.
1. Use image with height 72px

2. modify CSS file ..../storefront/view/default_html5/stylesheet/bootstrap.min.css
find about line 9
Code: [Select]

    max-width: 100%;
    vertical-align: middle;
}

change to
Code: [Select]
img {
background-color: #00A0CA;
margin-top: -4px;
    border: 0 none;

3. modify responsive css

}

In the default template there is a slider at the top of the main page advertising features of Abantecart.
I can't figure out how to edit this to put my own stuff there. 
I looked at Banner Manager but can't see any option there to edit the slider to change the images and text.

You can to edit banner slider and settings in 2 places:

Design -> Banner Manager (locate and edit all Main Banners)
Banners are in HTML, so you can edit text and path to another image
You can use any image size that fits your requirements. Current sizes are 600x300

Design -> Blocks -> Main Page Banner Slider.
Here you can control sequence of banners and add/remove them

If you dont remember your login. Use "Forgot your login?" link on acccount page. Did you change default setting Require login name: in admin-system-settings-Chekout Tab?

I'm still setting up my first AbanteCart store using ver. 1.1.6 that I downloaded a couple of weeks ago.

In early testing I used one of my email addresses to register for the Newsletter.  I tried to do a test order using my same email address by logging in as a Returning Customer, but the program won't let me.  It said: "Error: No match for E-Mail Address and/or Password".

So I tried to register again and it says "Error: E-Mail Address is already registered!"

So, I clicked "Forgot your password?" and entered my email address. The program sent me a new password. I tried to log in again as a Returning Customer using the password that the program just sent me, and I got this error:  "Error: No match for E-Mail Address and/or Password."  I tried again and double checked that I had the new password correct.

What might be wrong?

Hello. This is because by default in AbanteCart 1.1.6 You should enter Login name when create new account. Use it instead of email.
Also to change text "Error: No match for E-Mail Address and/or Password" go to admin and use global search to find it in language definitions.

I made my store logo exactly the same size as the AbanteCart default logo. However, as you can see, it isn't aligning with the top menu bar properly. It's 3 or 4 pixels too low, and showing a white space across the top.

How do I fix this so that it aligns with the top menu bar?

Are You sure the size is same?

I just looked at the shopping cart again and as you can see, the Update and Checkout buttons are way out of place, way over at the right margin. Did this happen with you, too, or is this another issue with my computer?

What do you think might be making MY computer not show the updated shopping cart when I first click to Continue after selecting a new item?

I'd VERY much like to know for me, and especially to be able to advise any customers who have this problem with their computer.

And please don't tell me that it's caused by "Gremlins"... ha, ha, ha :)

First of all restart default browser / also check same issue in other browsers. If in other browsers issue not visible maybe your default browser have issues with some addon or module or something like that  :) I am use FireFox v23.0.1

I just registered as a test user/customer in my first AbanteCart store. The Address Zip Code field displayed my Admin username as a choice, instead of previously entered Zip codes!  Then, when I clicked to Continue, the Windows Password tool asked me if I wanted to save this password for this username, and showed my Zip Code, instead of my test username!  Somehow the fields are mixed up.

What's wrong?  How do I fix this?

Hello. This is not AbanteCart related. Looks like your browser or some browser addon save login/password and other data and fill it when similar fields appear on the page.

I'm trying to set up flat rate shipping. On the "Extensions > Shipping > Flat Rate" page it shows a "Storefront Icon" being needed.

I'm also getting this System Message:  Language definition "default_flat_rate_shipping_shipping_storefront_icon" is missing for ""

There's no information in the Documentation about what this, what to do, etc.  Please add information about the Storefront Icon, what it is, what size it needs to be, where it will be displayed, etc., etc.

Hello. 'Storefront icon' not required. Add it if you want to display some image when checkout.  Just try to add any image and check checkout process.

for load missing data error - this is server related issue. Maybe you have too short time limit for execution files or some memory limit. Do you have any errors in AbanteCart error log file?

for other one - after some changes You need to reset AbanteCart cache. Go to Admin-System-Cache

I just thought I would throw this out there. I notice some users are not seeing changes after they have made them. I know in my case, I have to refresh (use the circular arrow on my browser's address bar) my storefront before I will see the change I have made because my computer caches the last viewed screen. Even if I have closed the storefront and re-opened it I still have to hit refresh. This may be the first thing to try if you do not see your change right away.

Hello. This is related to browsers. Each browser use different ways to cache sites. In FireFox use Ctrl+F5 to refresh and see CSS and HTML changes but in Chrome you need to use it at least 2 times to see last changes. Even more modified .htacess file can be used to control caching between the browser and the Apache web server. And even more if user connect site to content delivery networks - You need reset  images and CSS cache manually in the network admin panel.

Hello. If you mean add previously ordered products on customer's side - customer can go to Account-History-click to VIEW on order - there will be previously purchased products with links.
