I "resolved" this by setting Settings > System > System Check to Disabled. Not really a resolution, but since the file permissions are correct and AbanteCart was unable to provide further support, at least I am not nagged with the error message constantly.

I use the check payment method for this, and I have renamed it to "Check/Purchase Order" in the language file as suggested here. Then, I do not release the order until I have the purchase order in hand and the customer has passed a credit check.

Hi, all of my recent orders since updating from 1.2 to 1.3.3 are showing the payment method as PayPal Express Checkout, even though at least one of them was handled by Square check out extension.

Hi, I have HTML blocks for certain categories and collections on my site. However, for any page that is supposed to show an HTML block, AbanteCart only shows the last HTML block I created, and not the correct one for the category and collection.
For example, all of these pages now show the same HTML block at the top of them: https://dedicatedpresentation.com/dukane-technical-support, https://dedicatedpresentation.com/sennheiser-profile-usb-microphone, https://dedicatedpresentation.com/libraries, https://dedicatedpresentation.com/healthcare-collection
However, the only page that this should appear on is https://dedicatedpresentation.com/sennheiser-profile-usb-microphone
I am using AbanteCart 1.3.3.
