Well, yet again, I finally found out the cause...

The extensions did not have a French file in storefront... So by going in Extensions> Extension's Name> Storefront > Language, and just making a copy of the english file, everything works fine and my translations are apllied without having to edit the files...

And they say sleep is the best remedy for too much thinking... :P

Hi guys!
I find myself with quite a problem today...
I successfully translated manually ALL files from the language definitions, but I now have trouble with the shipping options. Everything is appearing as it should on my Admin, but not on storefront.

As you can see on the screenshots I took, in English, the shipping modes names are all ok. In French, they are not.

I reviews all the language descriptions related to that, all is translated. I can change the names in English but not in French.

I tried to copy missing definitions from English, still nothing (no file change and still won't work).

Nothing in my error log, and 6 messages (Language definition "" is missing for "") are still there. When I check for those language definitions in English, their French version is active.

Something I overlooked?

My shipping options are : "Free Shipping", "Pickup From Store" and "Canada Post", and all 3 have the same issue.

Hi there!
I just want to know if the "Order Status Text ID" for a new Order Status (in french, for example) has to be the same as it's english version or has to be a different ID?

For example:

Order status (english) = Canceled
Order Status Text ID = canceled

Order Status (french) = Annulée
Order Status Text ID = ??? canceled OR annulee

And the more I translate, the more I find out places not translated (that I know I translated!)...

And an other "Name" that gets me a 406 error...  now it's in checkout_cart>column_name>Name...

Hello. What about other browsers?
Also this error can also be generated by the mod_security module on your server. Ask you hosting provider to modify mod_security rules

I tried other browsers and with my mobile phone to test it, I had a 406 error too.
I finally decided to uninstall and re-install a clean version, since my shop was empty and I had a few extensions that were problematic, and since then, I encountered the evil 406 page only once...
And it was when trying to translate one word... when I translate everything else, no problem, but that line always gets me a 406...
It's in language definitions for French, account_wishlist>column_name>Name  ... The word Name won't be changed... still don't get it...

Since it's an empty shop, I tried many things without being worried about the results... But after the third time I re-installed my French package, I tried it... But I still need to find out all the text that has been replaced to translate it manually, since I don't trust automatic translators for a good translation, and my shop's first language being French...;)

Now that it works, I am scanning all language description files manually to be sure all translations are there, which is long and boring, but at least it is accurate...!

I still can't understand how that much files couldn't be translated externally... I mean, I took all files one by one and copied their most recent version to translate them, and there are still many missing...

I finally found out how, after 3 days of searching and reading...

For those with the same issue, go to Design>Menu and select the language for which you want to change the translation... ::)

Hi,
I am trying to make my shop bilingual, english and french.
The existing extension for french is obsolete, incomplete. I decided to copy the language files from english to french, make a new language that way. I used Winmerge to compare each file one by one, line by line.

The problem is that I still have lots of missing text in french (language definitions detected), and I still get english text where I translated it. I did not use the "automatic translation". It just keeps on staying in english (especially in the top header menu).

What did I miss and how can I get the header to be in french too?

Hi, I just upgraded a few minutes ago from 1.2.8 to 1.2.9, via the admin panel. Since it's a future website, there is not much on it yet.

Got a 406 warning too.

I can't access admin. I tried changing permissions, addind text to the htmlaccess file, etc as suggested in the troubleshooting link. Still nothing.

I can't find anything related in my error log (last error is from yesterday).

Can you help me?

I don't know how, but it works now...
I cleared the cache, my browser's history, etc. Tried it a few times, even rebooted the computer... and re-cleared the cache... and now, it works... XD
