Hey guys, happy new year to all Abantecart fans and staff, peace and love for everyone ;)
My wishes for Abantecart:
V2.0 soon and lots of new themes.
Because I think that's where we lose to other competing platforms
-
Happy New Year!
In v2.0 we will have ability to have themes built with popular template engines such as Twig or Smarty.
Hopefully, this will attract more template developers to create templates and post on AbanteCart or other marketplaces.
-
Does anyone know where they can or how they can see the available themes?
-
check the MarketPlace

Hi Karen
You are right
Abantecart has excelent preconfigured things that help a lot.
But Themes that are the face of your store.
It lacks of theme and variety but has other things that make AbanteCart really good.
Maybe in future versions they put 5 o 6 free themes. Right now you dont find free themes.
-
Oh excellent
I didnt know it exist Themes free outsite the abantecart store.
thank you

Watch that the template supports the AbanteCart version you are using. In a quick look at that site the versions supported are very old.
-
I totally agree with you,
AbanteCart have very robust functionalities, but the theme needed to be updated most especially the front store
-
I am new to AbanteCart and it looks like it's got great features. I agree with others - all of the examples look really dated and will definitely make people look at other platforms. OpenCart and Magento have great templates as does WordPress. Any way to port any of these?
-
The closest would be opencart templates. It would require some coding to convert the templates.
You can check few AbanteCart templates in here:
