Customization help / Re: Need Ajax on searching
« on: May 25, 2014, 05:32:00 PM »
I think this would make a nice extension for AC

When You change logo the old one just unmapped but still saved in AbanteCart Resource Library. To completely delete it search for Resource Name in the resource library and delete it manually.
How about tags or categories for the resource Library ?

Handy when shops get really big.

Do you have adblock or similar extensions enabled in Firefox ?

Static blocks do not have edit option.
Will this be added in future ?

Without multistore you able to create one category for all languages but with different translation name
You mean "with" instead of "without" ?

If you backup in AbanteCart admin all backup files will be in the Admin-System-Logs-install/Upgrade History. In other case 'backup using hosting cpanel' ask You hosting provider.

I noticed this too...

When I added my own .htaccess versions I found out they were already there :)

Hey Advisor,  welcome to the board.   Your advice on the pic sizes is good.   BUT it is not causing the the issue Old Fossil was asking about.

Thanks Lee.

I know the pic size is not the cause... I am just adding my findings ;)

It helps if the pages load faster... especially if you're trying to tackle some other problem and you do a load of page reloads.

That's awesome !

Keep up the good work guys.

Important with using the TAR command :

Verifying Data as It is Stored

option -W
option --verify

Attempt to verify the archive after writing.

This option causes tar to verify the archive after writing it. Each volume is checked after it is written, and any discrepancies are recorded on the standard error output.

Verification requires that the archive be on a back-space-able medium. This means pipes, some cartridge tape drives, and some other devices cannot be verified.

You can insure the accuracy of an archive by comparing files in the system with archive members. tar can compare an archive to the file system as the archive is being written, to verify a write operation, or can compare a previously written archive, to insure that it is up to date.

To check for discrepancies in an archive immediately after it is written, use the `--verify' (`-W') option in conjunction with the `--create' (`-c') operation. When this option is specified, tar checks archive members against their counterparts in the file system, and reports discrepancies on the standard error.

Just add -W to your TAR command to make sure it's 100% OK

Is there a way to do this on a windows server?
I did... and tried rewriting in Windows Server... which will have major impications on CPU use, compared to Linux.

Stick with Linux or BSD with Apache or Lighttpd or NginX +rewritemod

Your products' pictures are too big in size...

Most images are over 2 Mb !

You need to recompress while keeping quality as high as possible.

Some of your clients will have slow (mobile) connections.
