When I switch Abantecart 1.3.3 to maintnenace mode I can see it when logged into admin when I'm supposed to be able to view the site to check on progress of changes. Any comments welcome on a fix for this. Thanks.

Yes, you are probaly right there! The free account version is fairly automatic on set-up but some tweaking may get round the recent problem. ZFast are my hosting company and do a lot to help my web development. Highyl recommended.

I found the answer this morning. Woke-up with a "light-bulb" moment as it were. Abantecart 1.3.3 does not like a secuity redirection through Cloudflare one bit! I was advised to do this when the website was hacked. The moral of the story is do not use Abantecart in conjunction with Cloudflare. It causes https issues that impacts on the browser being used and internal workings of the cart. This may also apply to other similar third party apps or tools.

Hi, latest comment from the Host:-

"Testing the setup with a manual install and it gives me an error "undefined" after I enter all of the database details and it goes on to the next step but there are no errors generated in the domains error log or the servers apache error log so apart from that message on the screen saying that theres an error there are no actual signs of an error anywhere."

I cannot make any sense of why it is saying that it is not using the secure links, in the admin dashboard in system > store settings it shows the saved addresses and shows that they are both using the https:// links and show securely but it seems like abantecart is still using the insecure links somewhere or at least thinks it is from the look of the warning on that login page.

I have posted your comments on the Abantecart Forum for replies.

May be important to pass on that I have also noticed that when I am on my admin login page that the address bar indicates https:// (padlocked) but above the the abantecart login boxes it states that "you are am trying to login in non-secure unsafe mode! Please switch to secure HTTPS to proceed" (See attached)

The plot thickens!

When I go to the categories page in the admin dashboard it is showing a blank list and inspecting the page and checking the console tab shows me the following error which could explain what you are seeing and chrome will not load any insecure content (http://) when you are on a page that loads with https:// so that could explain why this list is missing but I cannot for the life of me find where in the code these links are saved with this format, can you see if there are any similar reports of a problem like this with other abantecart users who might have a suggestion for a quick fix?

Dear all,

The MySQL matter is a seprate issue which is probably a question of me finding the right combination of details. What I would much like to find is a fix for not being able to see the default categories, products, customers and the like in the admin area to remove them and add my own. Not sure if UTF-8, related to the version of MySQL, is causing the inability to do this but it is something my Host has picked up on. with Abantecart installed when I check the phpAdmin the UTF-8 unicode or charcset is listed there many times (I'm no expert though). I am quite willing to share admin login details by separate private email, to access Abantecart afterwhich I will change them.

This is what my hosting has said about the problem:-

"James is no longer around, however he has left a note with a warning that this requires UTF-8, this is outdated now and not really used, it isnt used on our servers i'm afraid. We use UTF8mb4, this unicode is definied by the MYSQL version i believe so if the abantecart requires UTF-8 this isnt something we can offer, please note not everything in softaculous will be compatible with our server as softaculous is a third party app program".

Anyone else is free to comment.

Morning Basara,

I have gone through an FTP upload and still getting one or two doubts. Firstly, the php output buffering, database details, prefix, secret admin key etc. Screenshots herewith. Cheers, David.

P.S. Set the outputt buffering to = on in php.ini file but no change in status.

Hello Basara, thanks for the continued assitance. I prefer to install Abantecart via Softalacious Installer and after just trying again there is no checkbox as you describe. Would it be better then to install by FTP assuming such a checkbox would appear for unchecking? Best.....

Hi, no not at all. All I have done in setting-up is changed the store logo and swapped the theme form default to Bootstrap and back again. I can add a category etc. but not remove or delete one. This goes for orders, products and the like.Would it be worth re-insalling Abantecart?

Hi Basara, thanks very much for reaching out. In the admin area when I click on Categories, Products or Orders etc. to clear out, they do not load to list for some reason. The word "loading" appears for a split second and disapppears. Most frustrating.

Would it have anything to do with the php version? I am on version 8.0 at the moment. See below screenshot if of any help.

Hi, I am new to the cart and wish to clear out all categories and products etc. from the default template in order to add my own. Not totally clear how to do it. Doesn't seem to be a de;lete button anywhere. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
