Hello.
Backup your database and files before upgrade
Make sure your third-party extensions have upgrades (contact extension developer)
Try to upgrade AbanteCart - you dont need to add items again

In AbanteCart we have separate settings for each payment method (check each payment you use) and in Admin-System-Settings-Checkout Tab

Did you click confirm order button when checkout?

Check your AbanteCart settings. To receive email notification about new order your need to turn ON Alert Mail setting in  Admin-System- Settings-Mail

The email notification for new user will work only if you have Approve New Customers setting ON
