Gordon -  I think Kees is actually looking for the button image to alter -rather than the XML.  Least that's how I understand her last comment on the thread you cited.  ;)

General Support / Re: showing sold items in the shop

Kees,  a couple of other thoughts on how you might do this.

You could alter your image with a 'sold' sticker and upload the new marked image.

You could also  add a new category, or a new menu item,  or an additional content page.  All of these would need to be maintaned manually with new content.

Just some ways that might work.

General Support / Re: 404 error when using shared SSL
« on: March 22, 2014, 11:42:03 AM »
The shared SSL certificate does not use your domain. The server hostname is used in your domains place to allow an SSL connection without purchasing an SSL.

Perhaps in your new store you have not used the correct url for the store location in order for the shared ssl to be found.

I suggest reading about shared SSL setup at Arvixe here:
https://support.arvixe.com/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/View/157/17/shared-ssl

Then checking your store site location url for correctness within your Admin Panel store settings as instructed in the above article.

With that said -  it is never recommended for an ecommerce site to work on a shared ssl - Your business needs to be using it's own domain name in the url for the website -  and in order to has an SSL that uses your name you need to buy your own certificate.  That will cease your existing issues when set up correctly.  As Gordon indicated you can acquire one for around $10 US and then all will be well and your url name will display as it should.

Configuration / Re: How to edit contact us page?
« on: March 22, 2014, 09:47:19 AM »
I believe the section you need it located here:

Design > Content

There you will find the PAGES for several sections.  When you edit you have a regular editor box to input your information, including html and graphics

You can add PAGES using the +Plus sign on right side by the languages bar, for example you might want a new pages that says Store Location -  the new page will show up on the footer area.

Kees, see the row of icons under the user name on the left column -  the last one is for a personal message to a user thur the board email system.

Just hover over the one for Abantecart,  it will show Personal Message,  click on it and it will give you at ability to send a message that only the receiver will see - not the whole board.

Sorry Kees,  it was me who brought in the GA.  I thought you were asking about a third party web counter of some type.

Are you asking about the statistics in the Reports section for Products Viewed and Banner Statictics?  If so,  I haven't found where one can set an IP block.  Another user or Admins will have to answer that.

I would suggest when you post a question,  the more details you can give the easier it is for someone to actually answer what you are asking.

Built-in Features / Re: Cost for items with multiple options
« on: March 17, 2014, 07:29:52 PM »
Yes,  but it's slightly more difficult on this particular issue - in that there NO place to have that cost within the database for the cart.

One can download most of the needed information from the database with some  third party reports generators, or ones of your own design, but you will have to import this information from a different source in order to pull true profit reports.

If you're running Google Analytics here an article about that

http://www.diannahuff.com/2012/04/quick-tip-filter-your-ip-traffic-in-google-analytics/

If you're running some other program -  just do a search on that programs documentation or board for help.

General Support / Re: how to activate "specials"
« on: March 17, 2014, 11:35:20 AM »
This is the link to the documentation

http://www.abantecart.com/ecommerce-documentation/31-admin-user-manual/catalog-menu/products#Options%20Tab

Check out the 'Promotions Tab - special price information for this product here.'  for details.
There are two areas - one for discount one for specials (or sale prices)
Again, I would encourage you to read the entire documentation manual -  it will take you only a little while,  but you will learn how things work and it will make your working on your cart much faster.  There is a learning curve with every new application one starts use.

If you used the search box in the Documentation -  it brings up 4 places  and one of them is products - and it would have taken you directly to the link I posted above.
Keep at it - your cart is looking good

Basara it looks like you misunderstood the question -  he seems to understand that he can alter the price for his customers.  He is bringing up an issue that I had on my discussion list -  what about the cost (not the selling price)  for the different products being listed.

The options do a good job on adjusting the tracking stock and shipping wt adjustment,  it just needs costing field.

Here's an example of what the missing field is:

prod a base cost  $10  sells for $15
add an option for a larger size that cost $12  and sells for $18
One can enable the option to show the selling price for $18,  but there is no place to input the cost of that item as $12.

The backend  (the things important to the seller) needs some improvement for handling the items costs, reports, etc.

Thanks for listening

Installation and Configuration / mySqli with Softaculous - how to help
« on: March 16, 2014, 07:03:12 PM »
After testing several ways,  the only way I see to get MySQLI is thru FTP upload and install, choose MySQLI on the Abantecart install routine.

There doesn't seem to be any way to choose MySQLI on a Softaculous install.  And I do not know how to call it after the install.  My preference would be to use the Softaculous installer as it is much faster than FTP upload and has a couple of nice additional features.  I am running all the correct versions to support MySQLI.

Any input into this would be great.

Thanks

Here's the documentation link - the delete is all the way to the bottom of the page.

http://www.abantecart.com/ecommerce-documentation/71-admin-user-manual/system/multistore-set-up

But here it is without graphics:   BE SURE YOU ARE ON THE CORRECT STORE
Go to Admin-System-Settings
select store in the Edit Settings: dropdown
click Edit Store button

the trash bin icon appear, click on it to completely remove store

Gosh -  I looked at these as I was unfamiliar with them,  but why one would want to add these to an ecommerce site like Abantecart provides is not clear to me.  The Gumroad and Selz both come with their own carts,  and the fee of 5% +transaction fee is quite high.

The Ribbon seems also seems useless for an ecommerce site as it is a payment transfer option - and would seem to be more appropriate for non-commerce transactions.

I am sure if I have may have misunderstood what these sites offer - some one will correct me.  But if I am correct,  they do not seem to be enhancements to this great ecommerce platform IMO.

They are located in

/storefront/view/default_html5/image/otherddetailspart.jpg

each of the sections is called by the <div class="innerclass delivery"> etc.

You could change those and continue to use the same div class call.   You could upload your own graphics, and call them in the Block
