Customization help / no credit card required for zero balance
« on: September 03, 2013, 03:00:37 PM »
Is there a way to eliminate the need for credit card if customer's balance is zero? For example: Client makes a purchase that is $10.00 and has a $10.00 coupon or Gift certificate, or for some reason has a credit on their account. I am finding that they are still required to put in their credit card information even with a zero balance in the shopping cart. I would like it to be that if balance is zero, they are not required to give credit card information. Is this possible?

Fresh Installation / Re: Shipping per additional item
« on: September 01, 2013, 05:21:17 PM »
Hi, I have been following this and am wondering..what about weight beased shipping? is it like flat rate shipping where it an amount that is added for each item, or does it calculate the entire weight of all items in the shoppng cart before giving the amount for shipping? If it is entire amount at the end, would that work for now for your multiple shirt orders? I am looking into it as well for my store.

Tips and Tricks / Re: showing changes

Thank you for that! I hope this helps people. I for one was unaware of so many differences in cacheing and refreshing amongst browsers.

I also have this issue and was told it is being looked at for future updates. I have 11 oz. mugs for $10.00 and 15 oz mugs for $15.00 but in the selection it looked like the 15 oz. was being sold for $5.00(it showed as "15 oz. $5.00" so, in the meantime, as a workaround, I changed my global attribute to read "15 oz. add" that way the customer sees it as "15 oz. add $5.00".

Tips and Tricks / showing changes

I just thought I would throw this out there. I notice some users are not seeing changes after they have made them. I know in my case, I have to refresh (use the circular arrow on my browser's address bar) my storefront before I will see the change I have made because my computer caches the last viewed screen. Even if I have closed the storefront and re-opened it I still have to hit refresh. This may be the first thing to try if you do not see your change right away.

If you are using the default version you can make them all "featured" products and simply not add (or disable it if already added)category to the home page layout (just have the featured block enabled and make sure you have it set on the home page layout). Make sure that enough featured items are allowed. This is done under system>Settings>General. Then as you make each product, turn on the "featured" setting

Sure it's inthewindcreations dot com slash AbanteCart I am using default 1.1.6 for now, I know default5 is more responsive, but I don't have the time right now to redesign the site and I do like the simplistic look of the original default version. Thanks for all your help.

Customization help / Making Images in listing block redirect
« on: August 23, 2013, 09:24:29 AM »
I made a listing block that I named "Products" to replace the Categories block on the home page. The reason was so that customers could see an image of each product category. The links above the image redirect to the category just fine, but I was wondering if there was a way to make each image redirect to the corresponding product page as well. right now if you click the image, it just redirects back to the home page and some of my customers have mentioned it would be nice to just click the image, not the underlined text link to get to the products.
Thanks. I am using default 1.1.6

General Support / Re: Display wholesale price

I am wondering if maybe you could posiibly make a copy of your files through your Cpanel and use that after setting up 2nd store. Like I said, just a thought. Hopefully the guys here at abantecart will have a suggestion on how it might be done.

Just a thought..I have 2 different types of items. I have a gift catalog with gift products and I also have oil paintings that I do. I wanted to keep them seperate, so I have a web page that is my main page (I make that with Web Easy). it contains 2 sides, one for gift catalog (this goes to my AbanteCart cart setup), one for my paintings(re-directs to my webeasy site). The customer chooses what to look at. I am thinking you could do the same sort of thing, only have 2 AbanteCart cart "stores" set up, one for regular customers , one for wholesalers. On your main page, have a link specifically for regular customers, and another link that says something like "Wholesalers click here". Each link would redirect to the correctly priced store. I believe you can clone your store for the 2nd one and only have to change the prices on your products in the 2nd store to the wholesale prices. Just a thought.

I believe you have given the wrong link because you have put my website address in your reply to this member.

I had not thought of it that way. Thanks so much for the clarification, you are absolutely correct.
Still waiting for answers on two other posts (one about global attribute for file upload and the other about my products aligning to the left) to get my site back to the way it should be after the upgrade, but you guys are the best. I have recommended you to two other businesses in my area.
