Title: Product Options
Post by: kbrnhart on September 03, 2013, 11:17:51 AM
Is it possible to have more than one layer deep of product options?  I need to have options based on the previous picked option or multiple drill down options.

Here is an example

Customer one picks his tractor
:  Case Ih (as main option)
Then option is populated with Case IH models of 7110, 7120 or 7130

Customer two picks his tractor
  John Deere
Then option is populated with John Deere models of 4050, 4250 or 4450

If I make an option for each make a tractor, when it is shown with the product I would have over 15 different option boxes.  I have seen it done with 2 or three.

You can have parent and child options.

Children options will be all related to one parent option that will represent one set.

But what I need is a child of a child.

This is what I currently have:  www   .a2bguidance.com  /cart/   index.php     ?dispatch   =products.view&product_id=3

What I want is this:  www   .outbackguidance.com/    Store/    tabid/388   /ProductID   /497/   Default.aspx       Under the choose a product drop box.  Notice how it populates the box depending on what is previously picked.

Remove spaces for links.

This will need custom development. Not currently possible I think
