Hello,
Product pictures show up good in German part of shop front but not in English and Spanish.
If I click on a product picture in English or Spanish part of shop front,
only the thumb picture stays with text Loading...
Seems that it is loading the big product picture forever but never shows up
and the thumb picture just stays there.
What can be the problem ?

Can you share the link to this problem?

probably you have no titles of pictures for other languages. Try to copy all of them on language edit page in menu->system->localisation->languages

Here are some example links:
http://server.pcdoit.com/index.php?rt=product/product&product_id=200&language=de
Product picture shows up ok in German
Now go to top left of page and select English
or go directly to this link for same product but in English
http://server.pcdoit.com/index.php?rt=product/product&product_id=200&language=en
As you can see only the product thumb shows up with message "Loading ..." that stays for ever.
Same happens in Spanish
http://server.pcdoit.com/index.php?rt=product/product&product_id=200&language=es

Another example:
When I go to Catalog => Products => Select any product => go to the right and Edit
=> Second Tab from the Left: Media => Edit => Resource Library
When I select German a black process bar is moving for a second and then
the product picture shows up, everything ok.
When I select English same black process bar is moving for a second but ends with blanc screen, no picture shows up and no edit.
Same with Spanish, same black process bar moving for a second but ends with blanc screen and no picture.
When I enter a title things get even worse because then even the thumbnail does not show up anymore.

Again:
Try to copy all of them on language edit page in menu->system->localisation->languages
you can copy all descriptions of RL, products etc from main language to another there.

Do I have to upload a product picture only 1 time, or 3 times for every language,
If I re-upload a product picture for english and spanish everything seems to be ok.

cause is you added new language after image upload. so you have no language descriptions for new language of image.
i remember that we already fixed this issue in 1.1.9 (by the way, what version of abantecart do you use?)

Don't tell me that this problem no longer exists in version 1.1.9 ????
Seems that my suffering has ended. I did twice what you proposed:
1.
System => Localization => Languages => German
Load missing language data : source language = english
2.
System => Localization => Languages => English
Load missing language data : source language = german
Now all of a sudden all product pictures show up, thumbs plus big product picture
not only in german but now also in english and spanish
I really hope this is going to stay like this.
This error comes back everytime
Error! Default language with code "de" is not available or disabled.
Loading German language to keep system operating. Check your settings
for default language. in /home/www/server.pcdoit.com/core/engine/language.php on line 300
But it seems this error message does not really harm anything.

Upload in German admin or in English admin ?
the best way is filling all variants of title for image after upload. After file uploaded you can change it's descriptions.
If you decide to add new language - copy descriptions for it from you general language.
Also you can to install translation extension such as google translate and translate missing description "on the fly". (is adds itself to selectbox with copy method)

For new product's image use any admin language (German or English). Both should work

Ok guys - I tested a couple of hours and everything now stays good.
All product pictures now stay showing up correct not only in german
but also in english and spanish. Thanks a lot for your help.
