Hey
I was wondering if there is a way
to make shipping free once a customer ordered by some amount ?

Yes,  you can use the extension for free shipping and set an amount for a total dollar threshold
Do not confuse with Free Shipping setting on product edit page. "Free Shipping extension" and "Free Shipping per products" they are different things.

what about giving tracking shipping free after a certain amount but still able to select the free option for normal post ?
hope i explained it right ....
i want that the expensive shipping option will become free after say 50 dollars .. . .

Not sure I understand.  Are you trying to have two levels of Free Shipping somehow?
I don't know what tracking shipping is referring to here.   A little more info please.

ok i'll try to explain better
In practice there are 2 postal options for me to ship to a customer

1. unRegistered Mail   - this one I want to make always free
2. Registered Mail  - this one I want to make 5$ and free over a certain amount ...

I made the 1st one my free shipping extension
but the 2nd one I cant do with flat rate shipping extension

Yes,  you are correct there is no current way to enable two levels of free shipping.

The only thing I can think of without having to do some type of coding  would be to offer a coupon for the terms you wish on the registered mail.   There is a coupon on the system for free shipping so you could modify it to meet your requirements.

you can add info to your pages using the language definitions or blocks for the pages that tell all of your customers the if they prefer Registered Mail and the order is over $50  use this coupon for free shipping.

Could even be an upselling advantage for them to spend more :D
