Title: Lost Top Administrator
Post by: SaturnSmart on August 01, 2016, 11:02:01 AM
Wonder if someone can help?

I have been busy populating my new cart for a few weeks now and all is ok. I have never been able to get the maintenance mode to work properly so have always left it switched on, switching off and on briefly if I want to check how my site/cart is coming along.

I have tried again today to get this maintenance mode to work by adding another user group called "admin" which I switched everything ON on the "Access" column but unfortunately didn't do the same for the "Modify" column.

I only had my main admin login which I've had since I installed AbanteCart and One other "user" which I used to see what the user would see when logged in.

Somehow trying the above today I have managed to lose my original admin logon completely and can only log in with the user. As I only have Access rights and not Modify rights I am now restricted what I can do.

I have tried to enter an admin name and password in cpanel AbanteCart installation screen but it simply sayd there is no username recognised.

How can I retrieve or setup a new "Top Administrator" without losing all of my products I have input?

Thank you in anticipation

Hello

Did you try to restore your password via Forgotten password page?

Basara, thanks for reply but unfortunately its not as simple as that. I only had 1 login (the original admin). I added a new User Group, which only had "Access" but no "Modify", I then managed to change my Admin onto this user group leaving me with no user at all as a Top Administrator. Because I could not change certain things I decided to change the username also.

I can logon with the new username but can only "Access" and not "Modify" and when I try to logon with my admin username and password it tells me there is No Such User.

This has to be a BUG where you can lose the ONLY Top Administrator!!

You can change your user group to Top Admistrator directly in database.
Find ac_users table, then find your user or create new one and set user_group_id to 1
