I have freshly installed AbanteCart Version 1.2.8 and i am trying to upload my own logo and favicon, but there is no option for my to do this. Please see attached image. Image (https://postimg.org/image/j8q9spq19/)
Also where do i edit the promo boxes on the homepage as i can't seem to find that either

Logo is easy to change in the template setting http://docs.abantecart.com/pages/design/templates/edit.html
If you are looking how to disable, edit or move some blocks (side boxes) in the Admin area go to Design > Layouts section. Then select your store default template. Look for block you want to edit
