Title: Blurry site images
Post by: jaysbar on September 08, 2016, 04:02:27 PM
Hi

I just saw this post http://forum.abantecart.com/index.php/topic,4114.15.html

I too have blurry images on my site. ALL images are blurry. All of my images look VERY clear and sharp when I preview them in Windows 10 or in Photoshop and the resolution is also very good. Any idea why they are being presented so poor in Abantecart?

Here are my settings:

Hello.

Please check Jpeg Images Compression Level in the System Settings http://docs.abantecart.com/pages/settings/system.html set it to 95% and clear AbanteCart cache, also make sure you have not speedfasteners addons enabled in your browser. When speed up optimizer enabled in browser then your images are shown as blurry

I have no idea how this changed! But it has fixed the issue.

I looked at this setting and thought that compressing my jpegs by 95% would mean they are very compressed resulting in poorer picture quality!

Does 100% mean it's the sharpest possible picture?

Should I also enable Generate High Res Images to make my pictures sharp?

Thanks

Hello.

This is percent of jpg quality original image has 100%, usually 90-95% give much less file size and no visible quality loss.
For the Hi-res images this is amazing AbanteCart feature give you much more sharper images on the retina devices. You should enable it so your customers who have retina devices will see sharp images.
