Title: Assign specific products to only one customer group?

We are considering AbanteCart Cart.

Is it possible to assign a product to a customer/customer group so that other customers do not see it?

This is for specially produced custom products that are reordered.

Not directly.  But you can establish a second store -  as a subdomain . 
eg.  Mainstore.com
second store  customwork.mainstore.com


The are both managed from within the same Admin panel.
And you would assign the custom work to just the second store.
