Perhaps I don't understand the meaning of "slider". I am hoping to be able to have my customers view my "latest" products in the home page by "sliding" the .jpg pictures back and forth across the screen. As instructed, I turned the "slider" extension on. I then went to "Design/Layouts" and clicked on "Home" page. The instructions say I should now add the slider to the "content_top" section. What, exactly, should I be adding to the "content_top" section? In addition, I can't find anything called "content-top" on the layout for the Home Page. Where will I find it?

I did find "content_top" under "Blocks", but it can only be viewed, not edited, even though it says it is associated with the Home Page. I'm clearly not understanding something...
"content" - is a placeholder between left and right columns.. and placeholder above content is called content_top
Can a slider be added at any point during the construction/design of the shopping cart, or must it be done at the beginning? (should it be showing up in the drop downs on the layouts page?)
Some blocks are available for any placeholder on any page and some blocks are only assigned to specific location on any page.
If you do not see block in some location (placeholder) but you see in others, this indicates that this block is available only for specific placeholders.
sorry to barge in i used this extension and put it in the content top but when i view it in the page no items is showing even i selected latest products which has many products listed.
