Thank you, I appreciate the responses... I like to keep available options open. I've decided to stay with a2hosting for now. but when the 3 years are up for current package I may be looking for something...

I am looking at options for hosting. presently on A2hosting.
I read the page on hosting partners
I also searched the web and found one that sounds interesting called fastcomet hosting.
Is anyone here using this hosting...
my one condition is to keep the costs down.
feel free to pm me regarding your experience.
Thanks David

I'm not sure why you are saying this, extension already exists.  Why do you take off the tools that were there in the previous version? You want to make abantecart the best available then put the tools back so users like me can easily build our sites???

#5
why did we lose all the standard tools for the HTML / Visual section ??? I am using abantecart because it has been so easy to use without having to know allot of code.  I like to be able to click on the tool to add a table or set the text size... this is causing great hardship on the upgrade to 1.2.6   I would like to stay up to date... How many others out there are disturbed by this change? lets get these tools back so we can easily build our store site!!!

Gordon,

Sorry for my ignorance, but can you explain what you mean when you say:

Here is an example I always include in my <head></head> section.

Where on the website would I enter these?

Thank you,\
David

Gordon,

Does it matter where this is put? meaning above or below the other text you suggested to be there?

and what am I telling it to do with this?

Gordon,

Thank you, for the great response.  I appreciate so much all the detailed information you are offering with this SEO area...So glad you have joined the abantecart team.  As far as the location being under /store...I had done that to keep clear which files are a part of abantecart and which ones are not...but now that I am more familiar with how abantecart works...perhaps that would be a good move to make...to move the files to the root area.

As far as using the sitemap and attracta.
..an interesting note.  I was also using the free tools for another website we have and shortly after I had done that a man in Wisconsin found that site and ordered.  He had not been referred from anywhere else...just found the site and liked what he saw...
Thanks,
David

SEO / SEO and sitemap

Gordon,

What do you have to say about having sitemap submitted and a copy on the website?...I have been reading a bit on the google webmaster page as well as I tried using a free service through my hosting company a2hosting...called attracta.  this seems to work just fine with my other websites, but for the one using abantecart...it is forwarded to mysite..com/store and i found some errors in the site:mywebsite.com search.
It seems it is finding some old stuff in the root directory which is not a part of the current website...You have seen my site before Love is Real.

Thanks,
David

Gordon,
I just found this post...I am trying this in robots.txt file to see if it makes a difference.  I just want to make sure I am doing it in the right place...since my website is forwarded to mywebsite.com/store...is the robots.txt file still in the root directory?

Gordon,

Thanks for the feed back.  I've been busy in Snow and etc...

Hi Gordon,
That looks nice...I did something similar by just making an html block and putting a table into it with the content I wanted then added it to the home page layout...I'm curious what you did to do yours...you can see mine at loveisreal-believe.com   I'm talking about the Love is Real Banner with Blue background...

Thanks,
