Was there ever an answer to this?  I have the exact same request.

I am trying to change the default search behaviour to search whatever it's current default is and to include  "Search in product descriptions" and "Search in product model" from the "search key words" box.

Reason for this is the search system finds almost nothing on my site unless one knows exactly what to search for.

No log errors are generated on a new order placement.

Yes there is one row present

Not sure what makes the scheduled tasks but this might uncover a key to my problem in my "store owner email alerts not working" http://forum.abantecart.com/index.php/topic,5162.0.html post as to why the store owner is not receiving alerts by email.

I have that already turned on.

I have tried adding parameters, I do want another address to receive alerts, I have tried many combinations of settings in the 'System > Settings > Mail' page.

Seems there's some disconnect with the alert system emails since everything else to do with sending emails is working ok.

I have been through the doc's and read what few posts I could find regarding this issue I am having.

I cannot get Abantecart to send any alert emails.

Tried lots of different options, even SMTP.

Contact us form emails do not get sent, nothing in the logs

Owner does not receive 'New Customer' alerts

Owner does not receive order alerts.

Sending email from the admin "Sales > Send mail" to a customer or any number of customers works fine.

Registering a new account, following up with the activation link and login into the new account works.  Owner does not receive an alert.

Making a purchase : Customer receives email invoice notification, Owner does not receive an alert.

Changing status of an order and manually selecting to notify customer does work.

The error log is empty.

The updated file solved the problem.

Oddly enough its displaying a version of 1.27 in the current backup logs.

I'm fairly sure its upgraded.  Just did that about a week ago.

This is basically a new install that's never been used.  Just finally got into it and need to go live soon.  I initially installed it roughly a year ago and played with it a bit then fell away from it and now have a major need for it. I'm sure I did an upgrade.  I did have to fix an SQL database issue where a line 14 was missing for "Customer_cancel" or something like that.  The forum was helpful on that fix.

I'm still in testing/configuring but there doesn't seem to be any difference in this error condition.  I made some test accounts and none of them will activate using the email activation method.

There's no output feedback when clicking the link other than it ends up just opening to the Login/Register page.

I'm unable to activate new accounts via email activation.
