Hello Basara, I will update the Stripe extension and probably upgrade AbanteCart in 2026. Really appreciate your help. Have a Happy New Year!

PS: Couldn't I just use the Stripe extension version 1.0.3 that came with my original installation back in 2019? When I click on the options to connect to my Stripe account it does reach my Stripe account and appears to be ready to interface with AbanteCart??

Hi again Basara, appreciate your responses. Let me reply to each item:

For AbanteCart 1.3.2, the correct default Stripe extension version is 1.1.1.: Ok. But just a heads up, when I look at the Extensions option in the left side dashboard the Stripe extention says it's Version: 1.0.3  Installed on: 05/25/2019 09:50:18 AM

The ONLY other Stripe extension in the AbanteCart store is a Stripe subscription extension for $59. Do you know where I can find the version you say I need? Version 1.1.1 ?

(Afterbacking up my current installation) and should I go ahead and upgrade to AbanterCart version 1.4.3 will I lose my current files, custom branding settings and layout blocks and so forth? In other words am I going to be rebuilding my current layout and branding using the new version?

'any settings and programming that will add sting in.' Could you please clarify what you are referring to? Yes, what I am asking is will I be rebuilding my website and/or reconfiguring the new installation and any "surprises" by installing a new version and its compatibility with my current AbanteCart configurations?

Thank you sooooo much for your time in helping me!!

Hi Basara, thanks for your reponse. If you happen to know or if anyone else knows is this Stripe Payment extension (Version 1.0.3) compatible with all versions of AbanteCart? Will I need to use Stripe webhooks or any settings and programming that will add sting in setting it up?

Thank you in advance!

Hello,

I'm currently running AbanteCart version 1.3.2 and reviewing the built-in Stripe Payment extension (Version 1.0.3).

To clarify my current setup:
Up to now, I have not been using the Stripe Payment extension to process payments directly. Instead, I've been using an extension that collects card information at checkout, and I've been manually entering payments into Stripe on the back end. I'm now looking to streamline operations by moving to fully automated Stripe payment processing using the Stripe Payment extension.

Before making that transition, I wanted to check with the community:

Is Stripe Payment v1.0.3 still considered a reliable and appropriate option for AbanteCart 1.3.2 for direct card processing?

Are there any known caveats or limitations (Stripe API changes, SCA/3DS handling, receipt behavior, etc.) I should be aware of when moving from manual to automated Stripe payments?

If the extension is functioning correctly, is there any practical reason to upgrade or replace it, or is it reasonable to continue using it as-is?

Are there any Stripe-side changes, past or upcoming, that could impact this extension even if AbanteCart itself remains unchanged?

For context, this is a production store using Stripe for standard one-time card payments only (no subscriptions or advanced payment flows). Stability, compliance, and reduced operational overhead are the primary goals.

Any insight from developers or long-time AbanteCart users would be appreciated.

Thank you.

UPDATE: Here is my response from AbanteCart:

"Hello.
It is up to Affirm onboarding team to accept or reject your application. We have users who use this Affirm extension for a while."

I appreciate the response from them. Glad I checked with Affirm before I spent the $89 on the extension.

Thank you!

Hello, I was about to purchase the Affirm extension for $89 and due to the problems I've had with extensions in the past I thought I would try to open an account with Affirm. During the signup process I was asked which ecommerce app I was using and told them AbanteCart. Here is the message I was provided after that:

"Thanks for your interest in Affirm. We're sorry, but we don't support your e-commerce platform right now."

So is this correct?

BTW: I posted Affirm's reply into the comments section provided where the extension can be purchased . Been 2 days and have heard nothing back by the author.

Thank you,

Tony

Update: The issue was resolved by technical support for a handsome price. But it involved removing the offending module which I paid for and am out what I paid. I have lost confidence in the platform to effectively integrate 3rd party modules and really hesitate to try anymore of them due to the risk of blowing up my current settings and configurations and repeatedly paying a technician to fix them. :-(

I say this having purchased over a dozen modules. Fortunately, I have found an affordable programmer I put into the budget when I want to try a new module which at this point is virtually nil due to the risk and additional expense.

I do like the basic platform and its potential but the old and sometimes new 3rd party modules and AbanteCart version incompatibilities make for a risky long term business investment. I will keep on with it as I have been using it since 2019 but now with much lower expectations of 3rd party modules. (which was part of the attraction to get me started).

Rant Over

Hi, thanks for your reply. I did contact the developer and he did his best. But still not working. At this point I am attempting to uninstall it but I just get a white screen and nothing happens to uninstall it.

Thanks!

I am stuck and a bit frustrated trying my best to get AbanteCart to work. All the issues seemed to have started after I installed the Best Offer Extension. I contacted the extension author who was trying to help but he wasn't able to get it to work. Tech Support seems to have done their best but has not been able to resolve anything at this point.

They upgraded me to the latest version but it really hasn't solved any of the issues I am experiencing. I hired them again to look at my error logs but say they can't log in with the credentials I provided, I sent a screen shot video of what they need to do to log in and have yet to hear back.

I know my problem is probably an ID10T issue but I got no where else to go but here for help. Otherwise I have to rebuild my site from scratch and lose 3 years of effort and with no fixes living under the knowledge it could all happen again.  :(

I would be willing to edit files and such but am not a programmer (know just enough to screw things up without some handholding) but not afraid to try at this point.

The latest problem is when an item gets added to the shopping cart I am getting this error message:

"There has been a critical error processing your request
Error: Could not load model total/auction_fee

Any constructive input and advice is greatly appreciated!

The plug-in you mentioned is not included in the default extension. You should have downloaded the free version in the plug-in market. If it is in the free version market, not all plug-ins can be used, and some of them have not been updated for a long time.

Thank you for the response!

I did not know there was a free version?? I looked in the Extensions available and nothing was found. If you have a link you could provide that would be appreciated.

Hello.
This can be an issue with the permissions. Go to the folder_where_abantecart_instaled/extensions and check permissions for the offer directory.
You can also contact the extension developer in the marketplace.

Hello, thanks for the response! I checked the Extension Folder and the Best Offer folder does not exist. I will contact the developer as you advise.

I don't know if this will be relevant to the issue but I did recently move my installation from a folder on the root to the root itself.

Former: mydomain.com/folder/

to

Current: mydomain.com

I may have missed some needed config settings?? Any input is appreciated  :)

Hello all, I downloaded the Extension "offer" and am getting this error message when I try to install it:

"Extension offer: Source can not be located! Please delete it and visit extension provider to get complete source and install it again "

When I try to delete it after saying YES in the dialog box it then goes to a white screen and nothing happens. I cannot find this "offer" extension to delete it in the extensions folder on the server so I'm stumped where it might be.

I attached a picture of the extension and the message on screen.

Any and all help is appreciated.

Thank you,

Tony
