Phone Number Optional On Checkout

Hello - At checkout when a customer fills in their details, phone number is mandatory, I'd like to make it optional so they skip entering their phone number if they prefer. I cannot see this option in admin?

You can do this in the Fast Checkout extension

Hello. Please navigate to the Fast checkout extension where you can access the setting to make phone optional

That option in fast checkout hides the phone field completely, I wanted to keep the phone field but allow user to optionally fill it.

Is seems either you are not selecting the correct place to turn off the requirement for phone number,  OR  you have altered something in your installation that is causing the issue.
