New Features Discussion / Custom Style Sheet
« on: October 21, 2014, 05:21:30 PM »
(I'm moving this here from another board)

I assume that changes to colors, fonts, styles, headers, etc., made in the CSS style sheet are overwritten when upgrades are installed.

Why not create a custom stylesheet--editable in admin--that is never overwritten. The <body> tag of the main site can be modified with the "custom" class, like this: <body class="custom">. Then you can override any CSS declarations contained in style.css using the custom class, like this:

body.custom { background: #032c15; }

It just needs to be easier for nondesigners/programmers to edit the color, font and layout of their site. People who don't want to bother will still want to buy templates.

Configuration / Customization and Upgrades

I've spent quite some time reading the documentation and I can't find this answer.

I currently have an Open Cart store and am considering moving to AbanteCart Cart. With OpenCart, I have a template that allows me to make changes to the color and layout of my store. Any other changes are dealt with through vQMod or editing core files. However, the template is poorly coded, and I do not trust it to survive a core upgrade.

So how does AbanteCart Cart handle customization without requiring it all to be redone upon upgrade? Is there a blank css file included that'll survive upgrade and where we can create our own styles?

I don't really want to have to go in and change core files every time I upgrade.

Fresh Installation / Can't Access Admin--Domain For Sale
« on: October 14, 2013, 11:31:16 AM »
I installed AbanteCart using Softaculous. But when I click on the link to access my admin page, all I get is a message from Sedo that my domain is for sale.

How do I access my admin page?
