I have a quick question:

In the option values - when I choose selectbox - in order to "play around" with the prices I have also to add a price modifier.

So fat so good.

My question is: is there a way to hide the price modifier and to display only the total price that has been changed/affected by the price modifier?

Support / Creating a menu - icon

Hi guys,

I have a question:

In the main menu, next to the checkout icon, I want to create an additional menu that would lead to my blog.

Although I pretty much understood how to set it up, I face one issue:

I want to upload a "blog"-icon (since I did not find any in the library). How do I find one - with the need size - or in essence how do I do it?

New Features Discussion / Buyable Pins for Pinterest

Hi guys,

here is an idea - proposition that I came across quite recently and it has to do with Pinterest.

My point is this:
There are a couple of other platforms that have integrated in them the option of creating a Buyable pin through Pinterest.

The main concept behind it is this:
As someone searches through Pinterest, you can create an additional button-pin on your products' pins (assuming that you have a Pinterest account) that allows the person to buy your eshop's products directly though Pinterest,

In all honesty I have no idea if it can be done but it would be amazing if we could do this - that of course is my personal assumption.

I don't know, what do you guys think?

I would like to make a proposition so as to further enhance Abantecart's amazing features.

Using Abantecart for a while now, I can say with confidence that it is amazing.

Nevertheless, since it is an online shopping platform here are the two main points that I would like to point out:

1. When completing a sale, you will also have to ship the product. When talking to the customers and trying to provide them with a tracking number and tracking-link, there is no option in which you could add a tracking URL on which, when the customer clicks on, would open the relevant tracking site's section.

2. Invoices. Although, the invoicing is done automatically by Abantecart it looks a little "primitive". In other words, it is more a matter of aesthetics rather than an actual issue.

I believe that looking into the two aforementioned areas, it would further enhance Abantecart's amazing experience.

Finally, what I wrote here is not to criticize Abantecart - on the contrary, it is more to further develop this amazing platform.

Hi guys I have a question:

I receive from time to time the following error:

"Currency Auto Updater Warning: Currency rate code GBP not updated"

Something that I did encounter in the past as well.

Long story short I was advised to go to Alpha Vantage and to create my own"API key".

After I received it, I went to the relevant currency.php file and updated the specific section.

So, even after a couple of months, why do I still get that error again, any ideas?

General Support / Issues with Product Relations Option

Hi guys,

I have come across an issue that puzzles me and I need your insights here.

When I go to

Catalog > Products > Relations

and I add various products - to one of my existing products - so as to relate the products to each other, and click save...

Something weird occurs:

Afterwards I cannot do this again because I am confronted with the following issue (as seen in the attachment product-relations-issue-1 and product-relations-issue-2)...

The correct one would be as seen in the attachment called "relations-products-1" but after I save the changes I get this long blank thing.

Any suggestions or ides that could cause this problem?

All I see is just a long blank page.

PS: When I click the inspect option I receive the following error from the console as seen in attachment "error-inspect".

As well as the following error-notice:

 In all honesty I do not know if this is relevant or not.

General Support / Integrating Google Ads into my online store

Hi Guys,

I have recently started to utilize google ads so as to promote my online store (you know, checking how things will go etc).

Please Note: I am the one doing the advertisement for my store.

Now, somewhere Google Ads states - that so as to improve my google ads ranking etc - I should add an HTML code to my abantecart store (to be more precise, I would have to add a "Google Site Tag" and a "Event snippet").

Here are my Questions:
1. Can it be done?
2. How do you do it?
3. Should I do it (I mean, is it worth it)?

How-to questions / About digital download

Hi guys, I have a question concerning digital downloads...

I was able to do all required things and it works.. so far so good  :)

Now, here is the issue:

Under "digital" product > files , if you click on the edit icon, you are presented with various options (obviously).

Under "Maximum downloads" it practically tells you that "Count of downloads allowed for customer"...

From what I was able to deduct that means:

If I leave this field blank, although the customer did pay for the product only once, he is able to download it as many times as he wants.

If I set this number to 3, it means that although the customer paid for only one product he is able to download it for 3 times.

If I set this number to 1, the customer pays for one digital item and is able to download it only one time ... BUT... if the customer buys the same product again, an error occurs which does not allow him to re-download the digital item again (and if I am not mistaken, the customer did pay for it).
The only way to bypass this, is if the administrator manually allows for a new download.

Am I missing something here?
If not, how can this issue be resolved?

Template Support / working parallel on a new template

Hi guys,

since it has been so long since the last time I did it I would like to ask a question.

I am running an online store and currently I have a theme installed.

I am intending to install a new theme.

The issue is that the store is online, aka public, so my question is the flowing:

Can I work on the new theme in the "background", doing all necessary changes - like photos, css etc. - and once the changes have been completed to switch it to the official public one?

If yes, how can I do it?

I have a question:

I have observed specific IP addresses visiting my eshop; some of them are trying out some weird Url Accesses... so far they got nothing out of it.

In the attached pic I am including the specific IPs.

Does any of you guys have constant visits from these (proxy???) addresses?

How-to questions / About weight being displayed worng

Hi guys  :)

I have an issue here with some of my products' display during checkout.

So let us assume the following:

Product A: weight is displayed correctly during checkout

Product B: weight is NOT displayed correctly during checkout

Keep in mind that I use the weight-based shipping option.


What happens is that during checkout:

Product's A weight is displayed correctly (i.e. 1 kgr shows as 1kgr) and hence shipping costs are calculated OK.

Product's B weight is displayed twice as much as the actual weight: for example, 1kgr ----> becomes 2 kgr ?!

Going through the documentation, I observed that if in the product options you do add weight this will be added and calculated during the checkout of the product.

And indeed Product A did not have that label in the product options... so I went ahead and deleted the weight label of Product B.

In other words, the product options of Product B and Product A are the same.

Nevertheless, the problem still persists... Any ideas guys why?  :-\

Hi guys I have a couple of questions:

I amcurrently running  v1.0.2 PayPal standart how can I upgrade to  v1.2.11 PayPal standart or the AbanteCart new version 1.2.12 that I read about here: ?

The reason I am asking is because when I try to log into paypal, through abantecart, login fails. Also the credentials (aka email address in the paypal extemsion is correct).

Any advice guys?

Additional Note/Update:

When I switch the "Sandbox (Test) Mode" from yes -> to NO... the process works!

Now, here are 2 additional questions:

Is it safe?

And why would I need the "Sandbox (Test) Mode"?

AbanteCart v2.0 / About redirections

Hi guys, here is another suggestion that I personally did experience and could be very useful to Abantecart's upgrade.

Here is my personal experience:

Since we are creating an online store we want all our customers to visit our store in the https form (for security reasons plus for the fact that when our customers see the green "lock" they feel more secure).
Another reason why I wanted to do this, was because I am using a third-party template so I had css conflicts with the https and http urls. In my case the https was showing everything OK but not the http url. So yes, I wanted everyone to be send to the https url.

Frankly speaking I did not know how to do it and thanks to a member in here (thank you sam  :) ) I was finally able to do it!

However, I came across some serious issues afterwards:

1. One issue was that because the admin panel sends you to an http address (at least that is my case) I got locked out of it.
2. Second issue: Even if your https-address  store appears to be working correctly, when a customer tries to log in (due to another http case) you get hit with a critical error.

Consequently, and because I was unable to resolve all this stuff by myself, I did contact the guys of my hosting provider who thankfully did resolve the entire thing for me.

Bottom line is this: I do not know how much programming it may require, but just keep in mind the conflicts that may occur between https and http urls and regarding the marketplace... that the extensions are able to work in these (or both) urls... you do not want developers to get smashed for something like this.

Just throwing some ideas, with friendly regards  :)
