Bulk Orders Different Categories

I installed Abantecart last night and have been playing with various settings.

So far I like what I see however the main thing I am looking for which is my biggest gripe with the current shopping cart I am using is can items be placed in bulk orders.

An example would be:

Customer A wants 3 of the same item so no problems there.

However

Customer B wants 3 of the same item but different categories.

Can this be done.

Possibly, I do not understand right, but how product category is related to the order?

The shop retails in greeting cards.

Most customers at weekend events will buy different types of card ie age, wedding, sympathy

These are what I mean by categories.

cards retail at 40p each or any 3 cards for £1.

It is the 3 cards for £1 which I am referring too.

Hope this makes sense.

You might want to try Flexy Promotion extension.  Extension allows to set discount based on selected quantity and categories.  Basically, it is rules based promotion engine.

Like the idea but the extension is currently outta my price range at present.
