What is the idea behind the new "Blurb" field?

What is the blurb field used for?  I do not see it appear on my products page in the store, it just appears in the admin screen for a product, is it internal notes?

Hi. Blurb appear on product page and in the listing but you can see this in latest default template for AbanteCart 1.2.3
In case you use third-party or old templates you need to update them

Is default template fixed then in 1.2.3?  So that multiple rows of categories are not broken?  Can't use default template when it still doesn't work.
