I set up a new Business account with UPS.  i went to the Developer kit and can not find any instructions to obtain an XML code. I did find a 355 page developer manual.  WOW I don't even know where to start with that?

Here's the link to where UPS says they don't use XML codes, but now use something called oAuth.

The Abantecart version of UPS I have is 1.0.1 and it is asking me for an XML code.  So I at a loss of what to do.
I may try calling UPS tomorrow & see if I can get some help.

I think you may be correct.  I was trying to use my personal UPS account.  I'm in the process of setting up a new UPS account and I'll check out the developer kit.

Thanks for getting back to me.

I currenty have Abantecart ver 1.3.3 and it contains UPS ver 1.0.1

I was thinking that if there is a later UPS plugin version, maybe I should try to install the new one.

As you mentioned it does look like there is newer UPS version than what I have, but I'm not sure where to find it and/or am I able to install it?

Hi Everyone,

I'm having trouble activating the shipping module on my site. I noticed that it is asking for a Access Key & User Name & Password. For the Access Key it is asking for the XML Rates Access Key.  However when I go to UPS to get it, UPS says they don't use XML any more?  And what they were offering doesn't seem to match the options in the UPS Version 1.0.1 on my Abantecart.

Does anyone have any ideas about how to set up UPS shipping?

I've been using Abantecart for quite a few years now and I remember I used to receive text messages.  However that quit working some time ago.

I don't remember signing up for an account, but because it has been so long ago maybe I forgot.

I looked at Spam folders and I don't see anything there.

I also checked the AbanteCart error logs and found some interesting stuff.
I found 438 entries that have different dates but say the same thing:
        2023-02-04 20:01:49 - TextMarketer error: Textmarketer error: API response: ''. Error Code:0

So it suggests to me that Abantecart was trying to send out messages, but can't because of the missing API codes?

I had looked at this before and found that Textmarketer doesn't appear to be set up completely.  It seems to need some API codes?

I saw where Textmarketer and Tullio are supposed to come FREE with Abantecart.
So I went to Textmarketer to get API codes and it looks like they want me to set up an account and pay for their service.
Maybe my assumption that Textmarketer comes with Abantecart is incorrect?

Question: do you use Textmaketer and do you maybe have the API codes that would work?

I could have my Hosting provider re-install Abantecart but I'd like to save the product info that I've built up over the years.
I have done Abantecart updates over the years...maybe something happened to Textmarketer and the codes got lost?

As I mentioned earlier this function used to work a while ago and has now stopped working.

Hi folks,
I used to receive Text messages when I received an order on my site or when a new user signed up, but now I don't.  I've put in my current phone number into my system and still nothing.  I do receive texts from other sites like Amazon, so I don't think it's a problem with my phone?

I'm not sure why it stopped working so I would appreciate any advise on re-activating it again.

I'm using version 1.3.3

Thank you for the tips.  I had already tried the items in the article you mentioned.

However when you said You also have to enable on your template. it made me think the problem might be in the template.
So I looked at my template foxy and I couldn't find any mention of a review tab.
So I switched over to the default template and the reviews are all there.  So it looks like the foxy template may not have the review tab option?  That's strange because I've always used that template and I remember that the reviews used to be there some time ago.  I'll go back and double check the foxy template to make sure I didn't miss something.

I'll also look around and see if there might be some other templates that include reviews that I might like.

Hi everyone,

I noticed recently that the "Reviews" tab on my product page is missing.  I've been trying to see where to enable it and haven't had any luck.

I've been using Abantecart for quite a few years and overall it works great.  However I only have a few products so I haven't spent much time using the backend.  Sorry, but I'm pretty much of a novice.

Your thoughts will be appreciated.


I was just wondering - When you create a new product using the clone option, shouldn't you be able to go into FILES and edit/change the FILE being used by the product?

Since I'm able to edit all other parts of the order it would seem logical to me that I should be able to edit the FILE being used by the product.

But as I mentioned in my earlier posts,  by editing the download file it messes up the download from the previous product.

I was just using the clone option because the products are so similar.  It saved me some data entry time.  However I need to have a unique download file to go with each separate product.  It appears that I can't or shouldn't use the clone option. And that's OK now that I understand how it works.



I've made some progress.  Here's what I did:

I TRUNCATED the downloads file and the product_to_downloads file
So I basically started over from scratch.

I then added my 15 products and their corresponding download files - one at a time.

Note: by trial and error I learned that adding products using the CLONE option seemed to be what was messing me up when I was trying to add new products with their download files.

When I was using the product CLONE option and I was deleting the download file, I found that it was deleting the download file from my system.

Also when using the CLONE option, if I tried to modify/update the download file, I discovered that it was overwriting the original download file that I was CLONING from

So the only procedure that did work for me was to add a New Product and download file from scratch and not to use the CLONE option.

Note: I'm glad that this procedure does seem to work for me however it doesn't explain why the products and download files got scrambled in the first place?  I had not touched those products in the last 5 months.

check database tables "products_to_dowloads" and "dowloads"
In the "Products to Download" table there are 2 entries:

Prod_ID    Download_ID
190              32
196              32

These are 2 different products that appear to point to the same download file.  When I inputted the first product it was OK.  However it looks like when I inputted the second product, it changed which file the first product is pointing to.

The "Downloads" file has only 5 entries and they all have unique ID numbers.

Did you do any database o code modifications?  I'm not sure what this is and I haven't done any modifications that I know of.

Can you PM access to your admin? I will check to see.  I'm not sure what PM access is?

When I first found this problem I thought it might be a database indexing problem.  But I wasn't sure where to go from there.  Checking these tables it looks like I might be correct?  Any thoughts on what I should do next?
