Admin Area doesn't recognize my username and password

Hi, When I go to my URL admin area,
it doesn't recognize my username and password.

Please could anyone help me with this

Clear the browser cache and try to restore the password.
You can find your username in the database

I tried that now and it didn't work. Is it possible that It could be because I used an email address (with dots) as a username instead of just alphanumeric?
