Pre Orders

Hi Guys

I was wondering if pre order status on the backend (admin panel) supposed to change to " A pre order status" (Pre Order) but currently changes to pending , is this expected behaviour ?

So currently if i place a pre order the status in the admin panel goes into "pending"

Pre-order is a stock status (text on the product page). Pending is the Order status

But wouldn't it make more sense if a pre order goes into a "Pre order" status on the admin side instead of pending ?
