Where does the 'before order' download show?

Hi

I want to add a PDF to the product page for free download as specs on the product. I have gone through the download docs and activated everything but it isnt there. I'm scratching my head. Followed the instructions. Does the customer have to be logged in first as I dont need this to be the case, anyone help

Hi,i just tried to add the pdf download file from localhost.Here are the steps that i did.

1. Upload the pdf file to the media tab menu file in the admin->catalog->products as shown in the 1st step.
2. Create downloadable file name in file summary as shown in 2nd and 3rd step.
3. On the 3rd step,select before order for the activated menu and set the status to on.
4.The downloadble file will be shown as on the achievement picture i've attached here.

I divide the pictures into two post as it exceeded the allowed file size.

Last thing I was thinking was file size an issue as PDFs are over 2 mb. Will be making them smaller.

Hi yonghan.

Worked a simple work around without going through downloads so as to put it as a URL link in description. I went in to cpanel and essentially made a PDF folder within root folder of site but above admin. This will give me a direct external link for any one to download PDF from inside folder (copy and paste url to link in description without being logged or signed in). I suppose only concern is if my cpanel is hackable from that root. But as file is readable only then should be no backwash.

Yep looked at the achievement JPG. Awesome. However I'm using template 2. I see no download tab in bottom near description?.

Hi there's the product page in tempplate2 as you can see no download tab
