extension that alters image and other resource urls

Hello.

im thinking about creating a extension that alters the url of images. and i was thinking if there were a hook or some other means to alter as little as possible code. instead of altering in multiple places. like in a core file or something like that.

for the images it has to contain the height and width.


i would like to do the same thing for javascript and stylesheets.

im not interested in maxcdn but i have considered buying the module and customize it to fit my needs.

but as of now im not interested in buying the extension.
