Similar issue is covered in the forum.
Check write permissions on your cache directory. It has to be 777

Hi,

I'm trying to make a fresh install on Windows 7 x64 on the WT-NMP server 14.09 (Nginx 1.7.4 + MySQL 5.6.20 + PHP 5.5.16) and that error is still there :

Fatal error: Call to a member function write() on a non-object in C:\WT-NMP\WWW\abc\core\lib\cache.php on line 53

I opened all the permissions for the entire "abc" (abantecart) folder.
I also replaced the cache.php file by the attached one.

Had this same error, changed the permission settings on the cache.php to 777, changed permission settings on the "core" folder and finally found that the permissions setting on the "lib" folder were wrong, changed them to 777 and it worked fine... Not sure if this is right, its just a trial site at the moment so if this is the wrong setup would welcome any feedback..

If you set 777 on core and lib directories, this only needed for upgrade. Other times, keep 644 permissions for files and 755 permissions for folders

Hi Everyone,

I've just upgraded to 1.2 and got this same error:
Fatal error: Call to a member function write() on a non-object in /home2/athartco/public_html/teaathart.co.uk/shop/core/lib/cache.php on line 53

I've tried the above, in fact I changed all the nesting folders to 777 - still no help.

I tried a clean install in a new folder, and the same error came up. I guess there's something my server doesn't like with 1.2 - any ideas massively appreciated!

Thank you!
