Customization help / Pop up graphic when adding to cart

If you look at this site (I don't know what cart they use) and you add a product to the cart the Add to Cart button expands and it tells you that you have X items in your cart (with a link to the cart).  Try it and you will see what I mean.

I'd like to modify abantecart to display this.  Any ideas how a non-programmer like me can do this? (I can follow instructions on how to modify an existing template)

Customization help / Add qnty option for add to cart in grid view

I'd like to add an input box next to the Add to Cart button in grid view so customers can add more than one item at a time if they so choose.  This is available in detailed product view but I'd like it to be in grid view as well as right now (in html5 theme) you have to click Add to Cart, then click the X to revert back to the normal Add to Cart button, then click again. 

Currently the available quantity of a product is displayed at the end of the product description in detailed product view.  I'd like to move this to be under the price.  What do I have to edit to do that?

Customization help / Change Add to cart button for Out of Stock items

I'd like to change the Add to Cart button so that it reads something like "Pre-Order" or just "Out of Stock" rather than disabling the stock item if it is out of stock, or the customer not seeing it is out of stock until they go to check out.

Can anyone guide me on how I can do this? 

Extension Support / Bank Transfer extenstion not showing

I have installed the Bank Transfer extension that comes with the default install of 1.1.7 and using the default_html5 template.

The only other payment option I have set up is the paypal extension.

The Bank Transfer extension is enabled (set to on) and all details filled in on the extension page but it is not showing up as a payment option when customers check out.  What am I missing?

Support / Gift Cards?

I'm trying to figure out how to offer gift cards on my site.  Has anyone done this?

I bought the Reward Points extension so thought it would be good to offer points as gifts.  For example someone can buy say $100 worth of points to use.  But I can't see anyway to do this or any other way to offer gift vouchers.

Any ideas?  Coming up to xmas it might be a good seller.

Edit:  I just noticed in the extension store there is a Gift Certificates extension for sale.  Has anyone used this?

I have bought a couple of extensions and struggle with some of them on how to use.

For example I just purchased the Rewards extension.  I see a number of places to configure it but I have no idea what setting a value does.  Some documentation with extensions would be really nice else I'm loathe to by more and end up not being able to use them.

Support / Copy default_html5 template to customise

I'd like to modify mainly css for the default_html5 template.  I'd like to first copy this template to a new template and make the mods in the copy.  This way if I screw things up (very likely) I can just switch back to the default, make another copy and try again.
I installed the developer extension as I thought it would help me do this.  I did make a template using it and it made a copy but things aren't quite right.  for example blocks have their title displaying even though in admin it shows they are turned off.

Also I see when I use the developer extension it creates the new template under extensions folder where the original default_html template is under storefront/view
Can I just copy default_html5 to another folder under storefront/view (named something like my_template) and be ale to use it?
You may have gathered I am not a developer so this is probably a stupid question.  I do know how to inspect elements and mess with css though which is what I'm trying to do with my 'new' template.
I hope I'm making sense as to what I'm trying to do! Any guidance appreciated.

Support / Discount based on group

I'd like to offer discounts or free shipping to customers based on which customer group they are in.  I can't see a way to do this other than edit every product to add a group discount.  This is not feasible due to the amount of products I have.  Plus if I wanted to change the discount I'd have to go back through every product again.
I'd just like to have a blanket discount, or free shipping for anyone in a particular group.
I see in the extensions store there is an extension called "Customer Group Update (Customer Loyalty)".  Would this do what I want?  Or is there someway to do it without the extension that I am missing?

Another option is to instead use the Reward Points extension. Does anyone have experience with this?  Does it work well?

Support / Modify listing block

I am using the listing block to display manufacturers (brands).  I created a new block and selected Data Listing, for source I selected Custom Manufacturers from the drop down, and from 'Use block wrapper (appearance)'  I chose popular_brands_content_bottom.tpl

What I was expecting like is a single row of icons with arrows at each end to scroll through the list.  and it did work like that until I added more manufacturers.  Now it looks like the attached image.  Also when I click on the arrows they just point to a # anchor so doesn't do anything except take me to the top of the page.

Ideally I'd like a band listing that autoscrolls in a slow animation until someone clicks on an icon.  But for now would be happy just to have this as a single row of brands scolled using the arrows.  What went wrong?

Support / Move installed cart to a different folder

I would like to either move my install from where it is to another folder, or just rename the folder it is in.  I'd rather not have to do a fresh install as I've done a fair bit of customisation.

Can someone provide guidance on how I can do this without screwing everything up?

The main reason i want to do this is because I had an install of Prestashop before moving to Abantecart.  Google knows more about where that is (for example a search for my site points to the /shop/ folder where Prestashop was installed but I have Abantecart in /abantecart/ folder so seeing that google search already brings up links pointing to shop in the /shop/ folder I'd like to just rename my /abantecart folder to /shop.

New Features Discussion / referral program

I'd like new customers to be able to tell me how they found out about my store when they create an account.  And if another customer told them I'd like to reward that customer with a discount.  is this something that the Affiliates extension that is in the extension store can do?

As an aside I just like to say the descriptions of the extensions in the extension store are pretty sparse.  It is hard to know what some of the extensions do or if they are worth the money.  Would be good to see a demo of them or a you tube vid or something.

New Features Discussion / Picking slip for orders

it would be good to be able to generate a picking slip for orders that has information about where the product is in the warehouse or from which supplier to order it (URL on the pick slip).  I looked but didn't see anything in the extension marketplace that does this.

Support / Products Purchased Report not working

I have had some purchases but when I run the Products Purchased Report it only shows one item purchased which was an item I purchased as a test.
I looked at the Sales Report and it shows an incorrect number of sales also. 
In fact I'm not really sure what these 'reports' are for as I can't save them, and they don't give much information, and I can't create any custom reports.  Is this section a work in progress?

Support / Back button on checkout page does nothing

This is regarding the html5 template Abantecart 1.1.7
On the checkout confirmation page there are two buttons at the bottom one to confirm the checkout and the other to go Back.  Clicking the Back button does nothing, just refreshes the current page.
