+1 for this.  I need to ship by zone in Australia.  Flat rate shipping is no good as there is a big difference in price to ship for example Brisbane to Perth than Bris to Sydney.

I'd also like to be able to do this.  Have a different flat-rate shipping charge depending on postcode.  for example here in Australia it costs a lot more to ship to non-metropolitan areas, so I'd like to charge more for that. 

If you look at this site (I don't know what cart they use) https://www.aussiehealthproducts.com.au/ and you add a product to the cart the Add to Cart button expands and it tells you that you have X items in your cart (with a link to the cart).  Try it and you will see what I mean.

I'd like to modify abantecart to display this.  Any ideas how a non-programmer like me can do this? (I can follow instructions on how to modify an existing template)

I'd like to add an input box next to the Add to Cart button in grid view so customers can add more than one item at a time if they so choose.  This is available in detailed product view but I'd like it to be in grid view as well as right now (in html5 theme) you have to click Add to Cart, then click the X to revert back to the normal Add to Cart button, then click again. 

Currently the available quantity of a product is displayed at the end of the product description in detailed product view.  I'd like to move this to be under the price.  What do I have to edit to do that?

I'd like to change the Add to Cart button so that it reads something like "Pre-Order" or just "Out of Stock" rather than disabling the stock item if it is out of stock, or the customer not seeing it is out of stock until they go to check out.

Can anyone guide me on how I can do this? 

I figured this out.  In my shipping extensions I had selected paypal as the payment method for that type of shipping.  In the shipping extension I unselected the payment type associated with that shipping type so that none were selected (I guess I could also have also selected all of the payment types but would have run into this issue again if I added another payment type and forgot about this setting in the shipping extension).
Now all of the payment types show up as options in the checkout process.  Another trap for Abantecart newbies like me.

Ah, it was a change in the setting in php.ini for me that fixed this.
The php.ini file that comes with abantecart has
max_upload_filesize = 100M

it should read
upload_max_filesize = 100M

I only have one location set which is Australia.  I tried using this and 'All Locations' to no avail.  The test account I am trying this out with has an address in Australia.  There is only an 'address' setting for customers not a 'location' setting so I'm assuming these match if I have Australia as the customer country and Australia as the 'location' of the extension.  Although the Paypal extension is set to 'All Locations' and it works fine, just the Bank Transfer extension is not showing at all no matter what I set 'location' to.

To test I also set up a Paymate account and added to Paymate extension.  It also does not show.  So then I thought I'd disable the paypal extension to see if it was causing the issue.  When i do this no payment method shows even when the Bank Transfer and/or Paymate extension is enabled. 

I then set up paypal express and enabled it.  I can then see both paypal and paypal express options but no others.
I also tried with the COD payment extension, it also didn't show, still only paypal.

How can I debug this to figure out why?

I have installed the Bank Transfer extension that comes with the default install of 1.1.7 and using the default_html5 template.

The only other payment option I have set up is the paypal extension.

The Bank Transfer extension is enabled (set to on) and all details filled in on the extension page but it is not showing up as a payment option when customers check out.  What am I missing?

Did you ever get this sorted because I am experiencing the same issue.  Trying to import products.csv which is about 2.2Mb.  php.ini is set to 100M.

I've done some more testing on this. It was not working properly when I had another block after it.  If I do not have another custom html block after it then it works fine.  When I add the custom html block it doesn't work as per my original post.

I'm trying to figure out how to offer gift cards on my site.  Has anyone done this?

I bought the Reward Points extension so thought it would be good to offer points as gifts.  For example someone can buy say $100 worth of points to use.  But I can't see anyway to do this or any other way to offer gift vouchers.

Any ideas?  Coming up to xmas it might be a good seller.

Edit:  I just noticed in the extension store there is a Gift Certificates extension for sale.  Has anyone used this? 

I wish I was a developer but I'm not smart enough.  I just installed this extension to make a copy of the default_html5 template so I can change css.  I wanted to do this on a copy so it doesn't get over written next upgrade, and also so if I screw up I can just revert back to the default and try again.
So far the copy worked but blocks don't behave as expected.  Some alignment issues plus the blocks show titles even though they are turned off in admin.

Thanks for the information but as I already stated in my orignal post I have already installed the develop tools and made a copy of the template using it but it doesn't seem to work properly.  I can user the template but blocks have their title displaying even though in admin it shows they are turned off.  Plus alignment of elements seems to be out compared to the original. 
I guess the developer tool is still under development so perhaps I'll just need to wait.  My concern is that I am making a heap of changes to the default_html5 template css which may be broken next time abantecart is upgraded.
