Hi, I would like to have my own custom meta title, and not necessarily use the product title.   Is this possible for someone to do now or coming in the future?  It is really helpful for SEO.

Thanks!

Thank you, but I need it to change for each product page.  In other words, instead of Abantecart using the product title automatically as the meta title, I would like a separate area to put in my own custom meta title.  I switched over from Prestashop and my seo rankings dropped a bit, so I really need those meta title options. ;)

I have that option as an extension in my OpenCart store. It's very handy and essential for SEO. Here's a screenshot of what it looks like on a product page.

Nelson,  the other poster is inquiring about a different meta tag -  the title (which is set automatically by the title of the product)

You have meta tag descriptions and meta tag keywords on EACH Product description page -  that you input what you wish

See the screen shot and match up the colors to see the product page input and the what the page source shows to the search engines.

Hope this clarifies for you.

Lee,  just a happy AbanteCart user

I have my standard product title, Amazonite 10mm Round. This shows up on my product page, but I don't want that for SEO. And I don't want a long title on my product page.

So I bought an extension. Now I have a Custom Title Field that I can populate and choose to activate or not. You can see it as the last element in my screen shot. The custom title, which will show up in search results, is Amazonite 10mm Round Gemstone Beads Strands.

I also have custom titles for my categories.

I'm looking at switching from OpenCart to AbanteCart, but lacking this SEO option is a definite deterrent to that move.

Thanks for the clarification -  I missed that part of your screen shot the first time :-[

Perhaps someone will make an extension for Abantecart!

Somebody needs to. I won't live without it.
