A few ideas which may be beneficial to the forum itself.

Firstly I myself am a former support helper on the main smf community forum.

A couple additions this forum may benefit from are an antispam mod ( I do have one in mind), plus there is a mod which can be used to mark topics as solved (a green tick).

Would a Documentation Team be beneficial so as to keep the Documentation section upto date and easy for new users to read?

Hope the admins don't mind these suggestions being made.

The more I discover whilst setting up my store the more I like AbanteCart.

:)

How do we enable these?

We have person http://forum.abantecart.com/index.php?action=profile;u=3 in charge of user manuals and videos. He is updating user docs.

We are lacking technical writer to improve our API and development documents.

Hey Old Fossil, thanks for the post. As moderator I've suddenly seen a upsurge in spam and caught quite a few in the past couple of weeks. I think you reported one yesterday.

As AbanteCart grows, we're going to see more and more of this sort of things as the forum starts ranking well on the SE's.

Thanks for the help and suggestions. I too would like to see something added, a ban and clean option. I've used it before on other forums, for persistent spammers, it bans their IP address.

Old Fossil

Have added a few links for you to have a look at.

I can personally vouch for the anti spam mod. Once set up the mod works like a treat. You'll be saying bye bye to the spammers very soon.

Antispam mod

Topic Solved would imo be very useful for here too. Would look better than locking the topics which have been solved.

Which version of smf is the forum using? The current version is 2.0.7.

@Gordon I've noticed and reported several spammers on here now.

They are relatively easy to spot once you know what to look for.

;D

Indeed they are my friend. I was a mod for a long time on a very big work from home forum and man, the spammers loved that place! We had a clean and ban button, very nice to use.

Sometimes they'd come in and be nice for a while, then the spamming would begin. Clean and ban deleted all their posts and banned them.

I'm sure Pavel will look into your suggestions, he's a great guy.

Old Fossil

One forum I owned had no spammers at all.

There were two antispam installed ie verification questions which was built in and the aforementioned antispam mod.

TBH I'd get the bad behaviour installed asap.

Only takes a few minutes.  ;)

No spam is better than having to remove it at a later date.
